Whole House Engineering (WHE) was founded in Fort Pierce, FL in order to provide innovative structural engineering solutions to the South Florida Industry.  WHE offers structural design and consulting for the residential and commercial industries.  WHE focuses on coordinated innovative designs for early conflict resolution with all disciplines to better aide the design process.

John Herring – Owner/CEO

John Herring

John has spent over 42 years in the Building Components Industry specific to the Florida market.  John has provided an extraordinary level of service through his business ventures related to the engineering field across the Florida Residential/Commercial Design industry.  Backed by a B.A. in Pre Law/General Studies from Saint Michael’s College, John has spent his career utilizing innovative methods to resolve problems and stay ahead of the curve to employ the most up-to-date methods to create productive solutions and thinking.  John has spent many years providing Consulting for Manufactures across the US in Building and Design of Facilities, Specializing in Efficiency, Productivity, Collaboration, and Personnel Policies.  John has served on various boards including acting as president of Structural Building Components Association (SBCA).  John is highly regarded and recognized as a leader in the building components industry and continues to pave the way for new advancements in design coordination for the Residential and Commercial Design Market.

In Johns free time he enjoys aviation being a Private Pilot, MEL, SES, Helicopter, and Instrument rated.

Anthony T. Tombo, PE, SE, SECB – VP/Principal Engineer

Anthony joined Whole House Engineering, LLC (WHE) in October 2015. Anthony serves as the Company’s VP and delegate supervising professional in all licensed states. Prior to joining WHE, Anthony served as a Project Engineer in the telecommunications design industry where Anthony led a team performing structural design and analysis duties for telecommunications project spanning across the United States.  Prior to this he served as a project engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Wright Patterson area office performing contract administration, quality assurance, and design review duties.  Anthony has shown a great amount of knowledge in the structural engineering field throughout his career and strives to further his knowledge in all facets of the design, engineering, and construction industries.

Anthony received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University along with passing the Ohio Fundamentals of Engineering in 2010. He later went on to pass the NCEES 16-hour Structural Engineering Lateral and Vertical Forces Buildings exams to become a licensed professional structural engineer in 2015.  Anthony is currently a licensed professional engineer in 9 states.  Anthony resides in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where he enjoys outdoor activities with his dogs, fitness, and coaching crossfit in his spare time
